Welcome to Ruth Partington Pilates

Pilates is an exercise method with benefits for everyone. Designed to create a stronger, healthier body, its flowing movements balance strength and flexibility, realigning the body, improving posture and focusing the mind.

I run group Pilates classes and offer private Pilates tuition in Macclesfield, Poynton, and surrounding areas. I’m a qualified Body Control Pilates teacher and a member of The Register of Exercise Professionals.

Over the last 15 years I’ve been teaching Pilates to all ages, abilities and levels of fitness, from people with joint and back problems, to the very fit and active. I’m continually inspired and encouraged by the positive results and health benefits I see in my clients.

My classes are friendly and informal, allowing you to work at your own pace. I regularly run courses for absolute beginners, where you can learn safe, correct technique before moving on to whatever level is right for you. Why not join us and discover the power of Pilates yourself?

Why Pilates?

  • Improved core stability and flexibility
  • Improved posture, balance and co-ordination
  • Lower incidence of back pain
  • Reduced stress levels and muscle tension
  • Improved sports performance with fewer injuries

Since joining Ruth’s classes I feel fitter, more flexible and taller, with much better posture. Ruth is very motivating and has a professional approach. I always feel safe in her classes.

I have been attending Ruth’s classes for over 10 years and simply couldn’t do without them! Ruth is a passionate, empathic teacher with seemingly boundless patience. Classes are small enough for individual help and she ensures exercises are done correctly at all times. The hour flies by with the help of beautiful stress-relieving music. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ruth to anyone.

Ruth is always aware of individual class members’ physical problems, watching to ensure we work within our limitations. Through Pilates and her positive encouragement I am able to continue with my love of gardening.

I am in my early 60’s and have been attending Ruth’s classes for the last 7 years. They are most enjoyable and keep me in shape. The gentle but strengthening exercises have helped a troublesome shoulder and neck pain. I feel much fitter, with better posture and improved flexibility. The classes have an informal atmosphere and Ruth explains everything in way that’s easy to understand. She also includes lots of variety to keep it fun and interesting.

Two years ago my physiotherapist suggested I join Ruth’s Pilates class. With some apprehension as I knew nothing about Pilates, I joined her beginners class. I now do 2 classes a week and feel so much better for it. Ruth is an excellent teacher and makes the classes enjoyable, interesting and challenging.
