Tracey first discovered Pilates twenty years ago while working in the mainstream fitness industry. She gained her level 3 Pilates qualification with Modern Pilates in 2004. As a dancer, she loved how Pilates combines flexibility and core strength, to create long, lean muscles. She was also impressed by the endless benefits of Pilates to a wide range of people, including first-time exercisers and those recovering from injury.
Tracey trained in dance in the 1980’s and went on to teach aerobics – Jane Fonda style! Ten years later she returned to studying and gained a BSc in Health and Physical Education and a Level 3 Personal Training qualification. She also trained as an assessor for City and Guilds, RSA and YMCA, working nationally, delivering fitness qualifications.
Tracey currently works as a Personal Trainer as well as teaching a wide range of classes in addition to Pilates, from dance fitness to cardiac rehabilitation. She finds that reinforcing the principles of Pilates is a common thread in all her work. She believes that good posture and alignment is the foundation of all disciplines, as it maximises the benefits of exercise and minimises the risk of injury.
Tracey is an outgoing and approachable member of the team, with a wealth of teaching experience. Her teaching style is energetic and enthusiastic, with a good dose of fun!
When she’s not teaching, she’s always on the go – currently learning to line dance! She also loves walking in the hills of North Wales and the Lake District.
